Why
use badger hair?
- When used with a good soap or cream, a
brush raises the hair for shaving and massages the face while cleansing
and mildly exfoliating. Badger hair is considered the best hair available
for use in shaving brushes. It is very soft yet resilient, and holds
tons of water.
What
should I do with my brush after a shave?
- Using a firm grip, shake the excess water
from the brush. Then set it on it's end, letting it dry in an open area
such a countertop. You can also use a towel and buff the brush to further
dry it. Although we do not currently sell them, brush stands are available
from many other websites.
How
long does a custom handle take to make?
- It takes roughly 24 hours from start to
finish to make a custom brush. This includes preparing the blanks for
the lathe, turning a blank into the desired handle design, and allowing
the epoxy to set the knot in the handle. However, due to increased orders
and our hectic schedules, please allow up to one week.
How
long does a brush take to ship?
- We use USPS priority mail for all US shipments
which usually takes 2-3 business days. If you would prefer another carrier,
faster delivery, or are outside the US, please contact us.
Why
is my brush losing hair?
- It is normal for a brush to lose a few
hairs now and then. If your brush starts losing considerably more than
that, please contact us so that we can take care of the issue.
What
is that terrible smell?
- The "wet dog" odor is normal
for a new brush and will go away with use. You can also use shampoo
& conditioner, Borax and water, white vinegar, or baking soda and
water to clean the brush prior to using it.
What
kind of return policy do you have?
- A brush may be returned for a full refund
(less shipping) at any time if it has not been used. All other returns
must first be approved by Superior Brushes. A replacement brush or refund
will be offered on any defects found in a brush.
